NEW YEARS CARD

Each year, the Cultural Assosiation of Metsovo in Athens share their wishes with their members and friends for the new year ahead. The assosiation's purpose is to aid the village of Metsovo when possible and promote its cultural herritage.

The design of the card carrying the wishes of fortune and prosperity references traditions, folk themes and patterns, local history as well as current issues in the village.

2022 edition

As a highly turbulent year came to an end, the prospects for 2022 seem more hopeful and positive given the scientific progress and understanding of the pandemic's repercussions in health and society.

This year’s card of the Cultural Association of Metsovo in Athens, plays on the notion of positive and negative space, the hard line between two different states. A divide hopefully removed in the new year, once we’re on the other side of the pandemic. This duality, helped by the orientation of the secondary page, is read by spinning the card at 180 degrees.
