Costas is a design consultant based in Greece.

His research interests lie between design, technology, wellbeing and culture, focusing on the use of design as a creative tool for the development of innovative products and services.

Having watched MacGyver at an early age, he developed an interest for mechanical engineering, leading to a Diploma from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics in the University of Patras, Greece. There he specialized in composite materials and design, carrying out projects in the Applied Mechanics Laboratory. He continued his education in the MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, gaining a wider understanding of the interface between the tangible and intangible worlds.

He has worked in London design studios and on project for brands like Nokia, Tetley Tea, Axe/ Lynx and Costa Coffee.

He has collaborated with international organisations such as DeBalie in Amsterdam, FutureEverything in Liverpool, the Barbican Centre in London and the SENSEable city Laboratory of MIT in Boston.

His work has been acclaimed by the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Innovative Games Award, the Greek Graphic Design & Communication Awards (EBGE), Mikser Festival of Creativity & Innovation and Athens Startup Weekend Sustainability.

In 2010 he relocated to Athens from the Scottish Highlands where he was a researcher, developing experiences, prototypes and products that explored the use of new media technology for the benefit of rural and remote areas. He teaches Product Design Studios at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering in the University of the Aegean, runs the Service Design and User Research consultation offered by Found.ation and often organizes Hebocon Athens tournaments, the robot-sumo competitions for the technically ungifted, where the winner might not always be the best!

In all his efforts while living for 2.5 years next to the Loch Ness, he never managed to locate the monster.
